GREETINGS: I hope that all of you had a very good holiday season and are
now preparing to hit the trails and have a successful 2004.
REMINDER: The semi-annual meeting of the TVA will be held Saturday, 7
February 2004 in Columbus, TX. The meeting will be held in the Community
Room of the Nesbitt Library, 529 Washington. The TVA Board of Directors
will meet at 9 AM. The Board of Directors meeting is open to all to
attend. The General Membership meeting will be at 1 PM. Club presidents
should attend the General Membership meeting. If another member of the
club is attending as a representative they are required to present a
letter signed by the club president or club secretary designating them as
the representative. Additional information concerning the weekend events
can be found on the Friendswood Fun Walkers flyer enclosed with this
mailing. Plan on staying in Columbus on Saturday night so you can enjoy
the walk that is planned for Sunday.
REMINDER: We will be voting on two amendments to the TVA Constitution and
By-Laws at the 7 February meeting. Both of these were announced in the
November 2003 newsletter. I am again enclosing a copy of the proposed
amendments for review. Please be prepared to discuss and vote on these two
amendments.
PROCEDURE REMINDER: Clubs are still not completing and forwarding to me
the TVA Event Information Form along with the appropriate TVA Sanctioning
Fee. This is a part of your sanctioning procedures and must be completed
in a timely manner. This will be an item of discussion at the Board
Meeting on 7 February and procedure changes may occur; however, the
current procedure will remain in effect until any possible changes are
announced and published.
TVA REUNION EVENTS: The TVA Reunion Events will be held the weekend of 6-7
March 2004 at McKinney Falls State Park, Austin, TX. I have included a
flyer for these events. Feel free to reproduce and distribute to your club
members and others and encourage participation. The Trailmaster (Charles
Wortz) will need volunteers to assist in making these successful events.
Please, do not hesitate to volunteer some of your time over this weekend
and also encourage your club members to volunteer.
